This portion of my space on the Web of Cyberspace seeks to inform the reader of how the land or Mother Earth helped restore my sanity after a life of Chaos. What it won't be will be is a list of links or scholarly references. Yes, there will be some but not to the multitude that exists. My purpose is to impart the Heart and not the Head.
In 1990, I began my path of return. That year a tiny paperback book came into my hands that I recommend folks to read.
I share with you the poem that struck me to the matter of my Recovery.
As the grasses are stilled with light
Earth teach me suffering
As old stones suffer with memory.
Earth teach humility
As blossoms are humble with beginnings.
Earth teach me caring
As the mother who secures her young.
Earth teach me courage
As the tree which stands all alone.
Earth teach me limitation
As the ant which crawls on the ground.
Earth teach me freedom
As the eagle which soars the sky.
Earth teach me resignation
As the leaves which die in the fall.
Earth teach me regeneration
As the seed which rises in the spring.
Earth teach me to forget myself
As snow forgets its life
Earth teach me to remember kindness
As dry fields weep with rain.
UTE PRAYER
The Earth has taught me stillness, suffering, humility, caring, courage, limitation, freedom, resignation, regeneration, how to forget myself, and to how to remember kindness.
No human being could teach me these things. It is now time I return the favor.
Through my action of caring and kindness, I walk our Mother with reverence. It is my Celtic Path that I follow that helps me reach into the Earth and understand the messages of the Ancestors. I call myself, .
I have learned much from the spirituality of Nature and of Earth. I will work to protect our land and all the habitants for that is my spiritual environment.
